Job summary

Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer seeks a proactive NBI support professional to help set up new matters, generate matter numbers and ensure compliance with client, regulatory and internal billing requirements. You will liaise with matter teams, and the Business Finance, Risk Management and Tax teams to support accurate setup and reporting.

You will also assist with client onboarding, eBilling setups and respond to internal inquiries, while contributing to process improvements and global NBI

Responsibilities

  • Work with matter teams to set up transactions to meet external client and internal reporting/billing requirements.
  • Assist with opening new clients/matters and generate matter numbers.
  • Monitor client/matter setup for regulatory and billing requirements with Finance, Risk and Tax teams.
  • Action changes to clients and matters as requested by matter teams.
  • Assist with setup of eBilling clients.
  • Use Practice Management data to respond to internal requests from lawyers/secretaries.
  • Coordinate with NBI teams for a joined-up process for fee earners and PAs.
  • Identify improvements to internal NBI Matter Management processes.
  • Provide ad hoc project support for the NBI team globally.

The Opportunity
Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the matter team to ensure new transactions are set up optimally to meet both external client and legal requirements and internal reporting/billing requirements.

  • Assistance with opening of new clients/matters and generation of matter numbers

  • Monitor the setup of clients/matters to ensure compliance with the regulations and billing/rates requirements, liaising where relevant with the Business Finance, Risk Management and Tax Teams.

  • Actioning changes to clients and matters as requested by matter teams

  • Assistance with the setup of eBilling clients

  • Using the information held within the Practice Management system to assist internal clients (lawyers/secretaries) by responding to their enquiries

  • Liaising with the other New Business Intake teams to ensure a joined up and efficient process for the fee earners and PA’s.

  • Identify process improvements to the internal NBI Matter Management processes

  • Ad hoc project support for the NBI team globally

Skills / Experience
  • Educated to degree level
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Good commercial awareness.

  • Excellent verbal, written and face to face communication skills.
