Job summary

Academics is recruiting a Maths Teacher - SEN for work across Doncaster and South Yorkshire settings. Immediate start for a qualified, experienced teacher to deliver engaging, bespoke mathematics lessons tailored to pupils with additional needs.

You will differentiate tasks, monitor progress and maintain a safe learning environment, building positive relationships with pupils and staff while following safeguarding policies. The role offers flexible, ongoing supply work with PAYE earnings.

Maths Teacher - SEN

Academics is a specialist education recruitment agency which works closely with various SEN Settings across Doncaster and South Yorkshire. These are exceptionally important roles enabling engagement and education with some of the most vulnerable children in education.

Position: Maths Teacher - SEN

Location: Doncaster

Contract: Temp, Ongoing

Pay: 140 - 200 per day (Dependent on experience, training, qualifications, paid via PAYE, inclusive of holiday pay)

Start date: Immediate

The Role

The role is for a Maths Teacher - SEN working in various SEN settings, providing engaging, inclusive and supportive lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils. You will play a key role in helping students develop their mathematical knowledge, confidence and wider learning skills, while creating a safe and positive classroom environment.

You will be working with pupils who may have a range of additional needs, so the ability to adapt your teaching style, build positive relationships and respond effectively to individual learning needs is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons that are accessible to pupils with a range of SEN needs.
• Differentiate learning activities to meet individual abilities, needs and learning styles.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, encouraging confidence and participation.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching where appropriate.
• Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Follow individual education plans and relevant safeguarding and school policies.

The Ideal Candidate

A qualified, experienced Maths Teacher who is passionate about education and training, and supporting children with additional needs. Experience working within an SEN environment is desirable.

You will ideally have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong subject knowledge in Maths.

• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• The flexibility to work across different SEN settings in Doncaster and South Yorkshire.
