Job summary

Newbury College is seeking a Maths Learning Coach to support students in GCSE Maths and other maths provision. You will work closely with maths lecturers to deliver high-quality in-class support, targeted interventions and help learners build confidence and skills.

The role involves short-term lesson cover, developing engaging learning materials, and creating an inclusive learning environment to help all students thrive.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 English and Maths qualifications.
  • Experience supporting young people in education.
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND or additional needs.
  • Good communication and IT skills.
  • Patient, organised and adaptable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality in-class maths support.

Similar to an Academic Support Coach, this role focuses specifically on maths, providing targeted support to help learners develop confidence, improve attainment and achieve their full potential.Working closely with maths lecturers, you will provide high-quality in-class support, deliver targeted interventions and help learners overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and make sustained progress. You will support a diverse range of learners, including those with SEND, learning difficulties, high needs and low prior attainment, adapting activities and explanations to meet individual needs.You will also contribute to learner attendance, engagement and achievement through effective communication with staff, students and support teams.
