Job summary

Newbury College is seeking a knowledgeable English Lecturer to join our Essentials Skills department on a part-time basis. The role involves teaching Functional Skills English for Non-native Speakers/ESOL on a September–July programme, open to adult learners.

The successful candidate will deliver the course as agreed with the Curriculum Manager for Essential Skills and participate in quality review, planning and day-to-day management of the curriculum.

Qualifications

  • CELTA or equivalent qualification.
  • Degree level qualification or working towards.
  • English and Maths GCSE/Functional Skills L2 or equivalent.
  • Experience of teaching English to Non-native Speakers (ESOL).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the course as agreed with the Curriculum Manager for Essential Skills.
  • Be proactive in day-to-day management, quality review and curriculum planning.
