Job summary

Heron Hall Academy in Greater London is seeking an ambitious Lead Practitioner of Mathematics to develop high-quality teaching and learning across the Mathematics department.

You will deliver engaging and inclusive lessons, lead by example, coach colleagues and contribute to curriculum development while safeguarding and pupil wellbeing remain central.

This role offers the chance to shape excellent teaching within the North Star Community Trust and help pupils reach their full potential.

Qualifications

• QTS and recognised teaching qualification with substantial experience teaching Mathematics KS3-5.
• Plan and deliver engaging, challenging and inclusive lessons across the department.
• Use assessment data and intervention strategies to raise pupil outcomes.
• Lead by example, coach and support colleagues to improve teaching practice.
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, equality, diversity and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support colleagues within the Mathematics department.
• Develop high-quality teaching and learning across Mathematics.
• Contribute to curriculum development and whole-school improvement.
• Coach, mentor and support other teachers in Mathematics.
• Collaborate with Head of Mathematics and curriculum team to set priorities.
