Job summary

Longsands Academy in St Neots is seeking a Lead Practitioner of Mathematics to join from January 2027. You will influence teaching and curriculum beyond your classroom, supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality mathematics education and drive achievement for all scholars.

Working with the Head of Department and senior leaders, you will shape teaching practice, curriculum delivery and ensure ambitious, effective mathematics education across the academy. An opportunity to lead CPD and coaching.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as an outstanding classroom practitioner.
• Experience using assessment and data to improve pupil progress.
• Strong leadership and collaboration with colleagues and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and model excellent classroom practice across the mathematics department.
• Develop high-quality curriculum planning, resources and assessment approaches.
• Deliver professional development and training for teaching and learning.
• Act as an instructional coach to improve classroom practice.
• Use data to identify priorities and drive improvements in scholar outcomes.
• Contribute to quality assurance activities and lesson visits.
• Collaborate with leaders to implement academy priorities.
• Build partnerships with families and external organisations.
