Job summary

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting a Mathematics Teacher for a high-achieving school in Sheffield. We are looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic educator who can deliver inspiring lessons, develop pupils' confidence in Mathematics, and encourage analytical thinking through high-quality teaching.

The Math Teacher is going to have an excellent opportunity to help pupils strengthen their mathematical understanding while developing the skills and confidence needed for future

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent certification is required.
• Experience teaching Mathematics in a school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and effective teaching strategies.
• DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Ability to motivate pupils through engaging and structured lessons.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Encourage logical reasoning, critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Create a positive classroom environment promoting participation and high expectations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and attainment.

Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

Maths Teacher Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons in line with the National Curriculum
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of pupils with different learning abilities
• Encourage logical reasoning, critical thinking, and effective problem-solving
• Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
• Create a positive classroom environment that promotes participation and high expectations
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and pupil attainment

Math Teacher Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
• Experience teaching Mathematics in a school setting
• Strong subject knowledge and understanding of effective teaching strategies
• Ability to motivate pupils through engaging and well-structured lessons
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
