GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch is seeking a committed Mathematics Teacher to join a school in Barnsley. You will plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons, explaining concepts clearly and adapting activities to meet learners' needs.

Job title: Maths Teacher

Location: Barnsley

Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Long-Term/ Day-to-day, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking to appoint a committed Mathematics Teacher to work with a school in Barnsley. The role would suit someone who can explain mathematical ideas clearly, adapt their teaching to different learners and encourage pupils to approach challenges with greater confidence.

As a Maths Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons.
  • Explain concepts clearly using a variety of teaching methods.
  • Adapt activities to meet different abilities and learning needs.
  • Develop pupils' reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Monitor progress and provide useful feedback.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and active participation.
  • Work with colleagues to support pupils' academic development.

Requirements for the Maths Teacher role:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential.
  • Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching Mathematics.
  • Previous experience in a school setting is desirable.
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to motivate pupils and build positive relationships.
  • Good communication, planning and organisational abilities.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
