Job summary

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for a skilled Teacher of Mathematics to work with a school in Sheffield. This role provides an opportunity to deliver well-structured lessons, challenge students appropriately and help pupils strengthen their mathematical understanding and reasoning skills.

You will plan and deliver effective Mathematics lessons, adapt activities to different abilities, assess progress and maintain high behavioural expectations.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent is required.
• Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics.
• Understanding of safeguarding and DBS checks.

Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for a skilled Teacher of Mathematics to work with a school in Sheffield. This role provides an opportunity to deliver well-structured lessons, challenge students appropriately and help pupils strengthen their mathematical understanding and reasoning skills.

Your responsibilities as a Maths Teacher:

• Plan and deliver effective Mathematics lessons.
• Explain mathematical concepts using clear and accessible approaches.
• Adapt learning activities to meet different levels of ability.
• Develop students' reasoning, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Assess progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain positive behaviour and high classroom expectations.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student progress.

Requirements for the Maths Teacher role:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is a must for becoming a Maths Teacher.
• Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching Mathematics.
• Previous school-based experience as a Maths Teacher is desirable.
• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to motivate pupils and build positive learning relationships.
• Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
• Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
