Job summary

Brookmill Medical Centre, a GP training practice serving nearly 9,000 patients, seeks an Assistant Practice Manager for a 12-month maternity cover. You will line-manage the administration team, maintain clinical services, and ensure efficient day-to-day operations.

Essential NHS supervisory/management experience is required; General Practice experience is desirable. The role starts in late January 2027, with a handover period to ensure continuity.

Qualifications

• NHS experience at supervisory or management level preferred.
• General Practice experience desirable.
• Experience with managing administration teams is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Line manage the administration staff.
• Maintain and oversee clinical services.
• Ensure effective administration support across the practice.
• Manage patient information and records.
• Oversee day-to-day running of the practice.
• Lead on business, financial and people matters.
• Monitor contract targets with the management team.
• Support the Managing Partner with daily activities.
