University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (through UHS Estates Ltd - UEL) seeks a Materials Coordinator (Cross Site) to lead materials management and warehouse operations across multiple sites, including the UEL Warehouse in Eastleigh.

The role reports to the Deputy Materials & Logistics Manager and Materials & Logistics Manager, with a focus on inventory control, stock replenishment, and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree level education or equivalent experience.
• Good general standard of education including Mathematics and English language.
• Experience supervising a team.
• Experience with purchasing/inventory software.
• Experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Ability to coordinate, influence and lead people.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate materials management and warehouse activities across multiple locations.
• Ensure effective inventory control and stock replenishment.

• Analyse inventory data and support service improvement projects.
• Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders and suppliers.

Job Title: Materials Coordinator (Cross-Site) Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week Main duties of the job We are looking for an experienced and motivated Materials Coordinator (Cross Site) to lead Materials Management and Warehouse teams across multiple locations. Reporting to the Deputy Materials & Logistics Manager and Materials & Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of inventory, stock replenishment, warehouse operations, and service delivery. You will lead and develop teams, oversee stock audits and formal stock takes, build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers, and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, control costs, and ensure products are available where and when they are needed. The successful candidate will have significant experience in materials management, supply chain or inventory control, strong leadership and organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service within a fast-paced environment. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

As Materials Coordinator (Cross Site), you will lead and coordinate materials management and warehouse activities across multiple locations, ensuring effective inventory control, stock replenishment, and operational performance. You will supervise and develop teams, organise stock reviews and stock takes, analyse inventory data, support service improvement projects, and act as a key point of contact for stakeholders and suppliers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in materials management, supply chain, warehouse, or inventory environments, along with previous team leadership or supervisory experience. Strong organisational, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills are essential, together with confidence using Microsoft Office and inventory management systems such as Oracle. The role requires the ability to prioritise workloads, build effective working relationships, and support service delivery across multiple sites. The role is primarily based at the UEL Warehouse in Eastleigh, with travel to other sites using established transport arrangements where required.
