Job summary

WasteRecruit Ltd is seeking a Material Handler/Machine Operator to operate a range of site machinery, including 360 Material Handler, Telehandlers, forklifts, loading shovels, mobile shear and vibrating screen. You will perform daily checks, operate safely in line with site rules, and manage stockpiles and yard areas to keep materials organised and compliant.

The role also involves cross-site work, incident reporting, and ensuring licences are up to date.

Qualifications

• Experience in metal recycling or related plant environment.
• Experience as a machine operator within a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily checks on plant and equipment and log defects.
• Operate a range of site machinery safely and in compliance with site rules.
• Construct and maintain scrap stockpiles and manage yard areas.
• Ensure all licences and certifications for operating are valid and up to date.
• Work across on-site and off-site operations, including remote activities.
• Report incidents, accidents and near misses to the site manager and assist investigations.
• Follow health and safety procedures and participate in toolbox talks and risk assessments.
