Kemp Eko Talent Ltd is recruiting for a Recycling Operative on behalf of a leading Waste & Recycling company. This day-shift role runs Monday to Friday with a salary of £32,000 and includes overtime and training opportunities.

The operative will oversee full site operations of a recycling/energy process plant, monitor equipment, and perform start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers in line with procedures. Accuracy and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in recycling, waste or renewable energy sectors.
• Experience operating plant machinery used in processing facilities.
• Ability to conduct occasional machinery inspections and maintenance scheduling.
• Computer literate with basic operating systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Full site operations of a recycling / energy process plant.
• Operate and monitor plant systems and equipment for safe, efficient production.
• Carry out routine inspections, start-ups, shutdowns, and plant changeovers.
• Ensure plant operates within defined parameters and complies with HSE rules.
• Support permit-to-work system, including isolations and safe work practices.
• Respond to faults, alarms and abnormal conditions to minimise downtime.

About the role

My client, a leading Waste & Recycling company are looking for a Recycling Operative to join the team.

Responsibilities

• Full site operations of a recycling / energy process plant.
• Operating and monitoring plant systems and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production process.
• Carrying out routine inspections, start-ups, shutdowns, and plant changeovers in line with operating procedures.
• Ensuring the plant operates within defined parameters while fully complying with HSE legislation, site rules, and company policies.
• Supporting the permit‑to‑work system, including isolations, lock-off/tag-out, and safe systems of work.
• Responding effectively to plant faults, alarms, and abnormal operating conditions to minimise downtime.

Skills and Attributes

• Experience in a recycling, waste, renewable energy, industrial process industry.
• Experience operating plant machinery - telehandlers, forklifts, loading shovels etc .
• Ability to conduct machinery inspections and schedule maintenance
• Computer literate
