Job summary

Adecco is recruiting a Material Handler in Edgbaston, Birmingham, on a temporary 3-month contract. You will support inventory control and logistics in a life sciences environment, performing cycle counts and stock checks.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 07:30–16:00, with PPE provided and a £13.53 hourly rate. Previous inventory counting experience and attention to detail are essential to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Completing daily cycle-count lists efficiently.
• Physically locating and accurately counting inventory items.
• Verifying part numbers and storage locations to ensure accuracy.
• Recording physical count quantities and performing recounts as necessary.
• Flagging discrepancies for prompt investigation and resolution.
• Checking stock-location accuracy and identifying misplaced or incorrectly labelled inventory.
• Supporting inventory clean-up and location-control activities.
• Assisting with physical inventory and audit preparation tasks.
• Collaborating with the inventory team to maintain routine inventory-control tasks.

Work Environment

The role involves working in various warehouse/storage areas, including environments with temperature-controlled storage (e.g., freezers at -20 degrees and cold rooms +2 - +8).

Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided, including safety shoes and hi-vis attire where necessary.
