Job summary

Adecco is recruiting a Materials Controller in Tunstall to support fast-paced supply chain operations. The role requires handling inventory, supplier liaison, and procurement tasks within a full-time, temporary ongoing contract.

The successful candidate will manage material flow, maintain records, forecast needs, and work across departments to optimise stock levels and procurement activities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in materials control, supply or inventory role.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with suppliers, vendors and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Experience with ERP systems for production planning and material management (SAP).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control material inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to manage incoming materials and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials received and dispatched, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with various departments to forecast demand and assist in procurement planning.
  • Perform regular audits of inventory and assist in implementation of best practises for inventory management.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in stock levels promptly and effectively.
  • Raise all Purchase Requisitions and POs for site-specific needs.
  • Ensure Purchase Requisitions for raw materials and finished goods are placed accurately and timely.
  • Monitor material levels and forecasts needed to support production requirements.
  • Manage stock (rental and sale).
  • Liaise with Production Planner for cylinder preparation prior to office fill.
  • Analyze material usage and demand to identify efficiency improvements and minimise waste.
  • Coordinate collection and return of products to 3rd party suppliers.
  • Obtain competitive quotes from suppliers not covered by central contract or price list.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and operation teams to ensure seamless material flow

Working Pattern: Full Time Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Materials Controller to join their dynamic team in Tunstall. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to contribute to the smooth operation of their supply chain processes.

Key Responsibilities:
