We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team. Responsibilities
- Safely moving pallets of products within the facility.
- Performing manual handling of materials, including lifting, stacking, and carrying items.
- Assembling and preparing boxes for packaging and distribution.
- Efficiently putting items into designated boxes, following company guidelines.
- Stacking pallets and organizing materials in a safe, orderly manner.
- Conducting stock counting to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Inspecting products to ensure they meet quality control standards.
- Assisting with general production and stockroom organization.
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work in a physically demanding role.
- Experience with manual handling, pallet stacking, or similar tasks (preferred but not required).
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in product handling and stock counting.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with colleagues.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to process improvements.
Day-to-Day
- Begin with a team meeting to review the day’s priorities and safety guidelines.
- Move pallets of products to designated areas, using manual handling techniques and/or equipment.
- Assemble boxes, ensuring they are sturdy and meet packaging requirements.
- Place items into boxes according to detailed instructions, checking for accuracy.
- Inspect products for damage or defects and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Organize pallets for shipment or storage in a neat, stable configuration.
- Perform a stock count and log accurate inventory records in collaboration with the team.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace throughout your shift, including tidying up pallets, boxes, and other materials.
The shift times are 2pm-10pm Monday to Friday.
The basic pay is £12.75/h.
