We are a leading Marine and Transport Insurance Claims Settling & Recovery Agent, providing claims handling and recovery services to marine insurers worldwide since 1960. Our mission is to reduce claims and maximise recoveries, helping our insurance clients improve their bottom line.

Location & Working Pattern

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Radlett, Hertfordshire, requiring in-office attendance on designated days each week, with some flexibility for remote work.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in marine insurance claims or a related maritime/transport field (e.g., P&I Club, cargo insurer, freight forwarder, etc.)
• Experience adjusting policy claims
• Proven ability to draft professional reports for insurers or similar stakeholders
• Solid understanding of relevant international conventions: Hague Visby Rules, Hamburg Rules, Warsaw Convention, etc.
• Experience negotiating and resolving transport claims

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong analytical mindset and logical reasoning
• A keen eye for detail and a high level of numeracy
• Excellent written English and confident written communication
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) is a plus, but not essential

Job Responsibilities

• Manage cargo claims from initial notification to settlement and recovery
• Communicate with underwriters, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve claims efficiently
• Instruct surveyors and analyse survey reports
• Ensure complete documentation and verify coverage under cargo insurance policies
• Assess and adjust claims
• Draft narrative reports with policy liability recommendations
• Handle subrogated recovery claims against third parties
• Support in casualty claims (e.g., LOF Salvage, General Average)
• Perform general administrative and data input tasks as required

Working Hours

Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM (1-hour lunch break)

Some flexibility in start/finish times may be considered.

Training & Support

On-the-job training will be provided.

6-month probationary period applies.
