Job summary

A leading insurance company is seeking a Claims Handler to manage Cyber claims across the UK and internationally. The role involves providing technical leadership, managing relationships with service providers, and ensuring high-level claims services. Ideal candidates will have strong knowledge of Cyber insurance, excellent communication skills, and experience in the insurance industry.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years’ experience managing complex Cyber Claims.
  • Experience handling claims over £5m.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all Cyber claims generated by Arch-managed syndicates.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior members.
  • Represent Cyber claims at various meetings.

The responsibility of a Claims Handler at Arch International (UK) Insurance Company Limited involves managing all Cyber claims generated by Arch-managed syndicates and company platforms in the U.K., with additional exposure in the U.S. and EMEA regions.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Handle claims associated with Arch International (UK) Insurance Ltd policies.
  2. Provide technical support and guidance to junior members.
  3. Provide technical leadership to the London market on lead files.
  4. Ensure the delivery of high-level claims service through regular communication with claims managers and underwriters.
  5. Assist underwriters in implementing their underwriting strategies.
  6. Represent Cyber claims at events, client meetings, broker meetings, and internal meetings as required.
  7. Manage service providers involved in the claims process daily.
  8. Assist in managing TPA’s, including annual audits.
  9. Assist with coverage issues and potential recoveries.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Expertise
  1. Handle claims within authority levels.
  2. Adhere to reserving philosophy and ensure claims are reserved accurately and consistently.
  3. Assist underwriters with policy interpretation and wording issues.
  4. Deliver clear and concise reports, including Large Loss and Risk Alert Reports.
  5. Prepare accurate audit reports for compliance.
2. Manage External Service Providers
  1. Maintain relationships with brokers, insureds, coverholders, and third-party providers.
  2. Provide feedback on the performance of legal and loss adjusting experts, ensuring SLA adherence.
  3. Negotiate effectively with external and internal contacts.
  4. Audit TPA’s performance.
3. Claims Strategy & Market Leadership
  1. Contribute to the department's business goals and objectives.
  2. Represent Arch International (UK) Insurance Ltd in the London market for Lloyd’s and company platforms.
  3. Lead market strategy, manage calls/meetings, and align with market expectations.
  4. Deliver claims projects beyond daily workflow.
  5. Help improve claims processes and procedures.

Skills / Competencies

  • Strong technical knowledge of London market Cyber insurance.
  • Knowledge of Professional Indemnity insurance is advantageous.
  • Experience with UK/US law and insurance regulations is beneficial.
  • Excellent understanding of coverage issues and policy interpretation.
  • Exceptional report writing skills.
  • Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Strategically minded and results-oriented.
  • Strong influencing skills and quick decision-making abilities.
  • Highly organized with multitasking capabilities.
  • Proficient IT skills.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C, plus A-levels or a degree.
  • Qualified DIP CII or working towards qualification is advantageous.
  • Insurance claims industry experience.
  • Experience handling claims over £5m.
  • At least 3 years’ experience managing complex Cyber Claims in the insurance market.
