Job summary

Online Oceans is seeking an Electronics Engineer for on-site work in Southampton to design boards for a solar-electric USV. You will own the PCB design from concept to production, collaborating with assembly partners and marine test teams.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on PCB experience, strong KiCad skills, and a background in low-power mixed-signal and DC-DC design. Experience with marine comms and industrial interfaces is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of shipped PCB design experience.
• Experience taking boards to production with a contract manufacturer.
• Strong KiCad experience or equivalent EDA tool.
• Low-power mixed-signal and DC-DC design expertise.
• Grounding and EMI layout proficiency.
• Confident bench skills for debugging and testing.
• Marine electronics familiarity and RS232/RS485/CAN/Ethernet are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design boards from initial sketches through production with assembly partners.
• Bring up and debug boards; build test jigs; support sea trials to trace field faults.
