Job summary

Online Oceans is seeking a Field Engineer to join our Southampton team. You will work offshore on Scout USVs, preparing, launching and recovering platforms, and ensuring fleet readiness through extended operations. You’ll bring 5+ years of marine experience, hands-on electrical and mechanical skills, and a Powerboat Level 2 certification.

Qualifications

• 5+ years working offshore or at sea.
• Hands-on electrical and mechanical skills.
• Confidence handling small boats.
• Powerboat Level 2 or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with uncrewed vehicles or ocean sensors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, launch and recover Scout USVs from beaches, slipways and RHIBs.
• Keep the fleet running for months and bring boats home.
• Drive the RHIB on trials and monitor missions in Tether.
• Find and fix electrical, mechanical and software faults.
• Fit sensors with the integration team and document faults for engineering improvements.
