Job summary

Gap Technical Ltd. is seeking an Engineering Team Leader at their Trafford facility. You will lead a two-person engineering team, own the PPM programme across lines, and drive improvements while remaining hands-on with fault finding.

The role focuses on equipment reliability, regulatory maintenance, and spares management, with direct accountability for H&S and audits. Standard days, with occasional overtime to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• Educated to engineering level (HNC/degree) or time-served with ONC/NVQ3 and proven maintenance experience.
• Experience leading a small technical team in manufacturing.
• Experience owning or contributing to a PPM programme and spares/MRO management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team, prioritise workload, coach best practice and develop skills.
• Own and improve the preventive maintenance programme across equipment and lines.
• Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, minimise production downtime.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Oversee regulatory maintenance and compliance, support audits with records.
• Manage critical spares strategy: min/max stock, budgeting, supplier relationships.
• Ensure health & safety compliance for engineering activities, permits, LOTO.
