Manufacturing Engineer Supply Chain - Composite Technology Facility

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Bristol, where we are developing manufacturing methods, processes, and materials for composite fan blades and fan containment casings. We are experiencing growth as we deliver composite components and manufacturing programs across various products, including the UltraFan Demonstrator Programme.

The Composite Technology Facility (CTF) is part of our Compressor Components business unit, supporting Rolls-Royce's civil aviation sector. The role involves working within our business and the UltraFan Engine Integrated Project Team, developing hardware for the Mk2 Engine Architecture. The position is based in CTF Bristol on the Filton site, with travel expected for collaboration with internal and external suppliers.

This role offers the chance to gain experience in composite assembly processes within Rolls-Royce and influence the development and delivery of next-generation fan systems. The successful candidate will manage relationships with the CTF supply chain to ensure quality and conformance of delivered hardware, develop a thorough understanding of product and process requirements, and implement improvements aligned with project timelines and budgets.

What you will be doing

In this role, you will:

1. Build and maintain relationships with the CTF supply chain, conducting regular reviews to track progress and actions.
2. Resolve technical issues within the supply chain, leading problem resolution efforts and escalating issues as needed.
3. Oversee supplier approval processes, manage documentation releases, and approve special processes.
4. Drive supply chain processes towards Zero Defects, focusing on cost and quality during industrialization phases.
5. Identify opportunities for process improvements and share best practices with suppliers to ensure value for money.
6. Manage hardware delivery into CTF, resolving non-conformances identified during goods receipt inspections.
