Job Description:

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Bristol, focusing on developing manufacturing methods, processes, and materials for composite fan blades and containment casings. The role involves supporting growth across various products, including the UltraFan Demonstrator Programme.

Rolls-Royce, a historic and innovative company, designs and services systems providing critical power where safety and reliability are essential. The Composite Technology Facility (CTF) supports Rolls-Royce's civil aviation sector, and this position is within the UltraFan Engine Integrated Project Team, based at the Filton site, involving collaboration with internal and external suppliers, with travel as needed.

We foster a culture of inclusion and growth, offering opportunities to develop expertise in composite assembly processes and influence next-generation fan systems. The successful candidate will manage relationships with the CTF supply chain, ensuring quality and conformance, and will develop a deep understanding of product and process requirements to implement improvements within specified timelines and budgets.

We provide excellent development opportunities, competitive salary, and benefits, including bonuses, support assistance, and discounts. Hybrid working arrangements are available, balancing office, home, and remote work, with an expectation of attending the workplace approximately three days per week for collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Build and maintain relationships with the CTF supply chain, conducting regular reviews to ensure progress and action completion.
  2. Resolve technical issues within the supply chain, leading problem resolution efforts and escalating issues causing program delays.
  3. Oversee supplier approval processes, manage documentation releases, and approve special processes.
  4. Drive supply chain processes towards Zero Defects through cost and quality management during industrialization phases.
  5. Identify opportunities for process improvements and share best practices with suppliers.
  6. Manage hardware delivery and resolve non-conformances during goods receipt inspection.
Candidate Profile:
  • Degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline, or HND/HNC with manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes related to assembly impact liners or honeycomb sandwich structures is preferred.
  • Experience in supplier management within aerospace systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing capability development and engineering toolsets.
  • Analytical, logical thinking with decision-making skills across technical and business aspects.
  • Strong teamwork and influencing skills.

We are committed to diversity and inclusion, fostering a culture where everyone can thrive and reach their potential. Learn more about our inclusion strategy at Our people | Rolls-Royce.
