An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Bristol, working on developing manufacturing methods, processes, and materials for composite fan blades and fan containment casings. This role involves supporting the delivery of composite components and manufacturing programs, including the UltraFan Demonstrator Programme.

Location: Bristol / Hybrid (minimum 3 days/week on-site)

Rolls-Royce is a renowned brand at the forefront of innovation, designing systems that provide critical power with safety and reliability. We support civil aviation through our Compressor Components business unit, particularly at the Composite Technology Facility (CTF) in Bristol, supporting the UltraFan Engine project. The role involves working closely with suppliers and internal teams, with some travel expected.

The successful candidate will manage relationships with the CTF supply chain, ensuring quality and conformance of hardware, developing understanding of product and process requirements, and implementing improvements within timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with the CTF supply chain, conducting regular reviews to track progress.
• Resolve technical issues with suppliers, leading problem resolution efforts.
• Manage supplier approval processes and documentation.
• Drive supply-chain quality and cost improvements, aiming for zero defects.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and share best practices.
• Manage hardware delivery and resolve non-conformance issues during goods receipt inspections.

Candidate Profile

• Degree or equivalent in Engineering or a relevant discipline, with experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably in assembly impact liners or honeycomb structures.
• Experience with supplier management within an aerospace context.
• Knowledge of manufacturing capability development and engineering tools.
• Analytical, logical, and innovative problem-solving skills.
• Strong teamwork and influencing skills.
