Job description

Join to apply for the Manufacturing Engineer role at Rolls-Royce.

Job Description

We currently have an excellent opportunity to join the Engine Overhaul Services (EOS) as a Manufacturing Engineer (ME). As an ME within the Capability Team, you will work to deliver overhaul and repair capabilities for fleet-critical and legacy products, including activities related to the Trent 1000, 1000-TEN, XWB, 7000, and beyond.

The primary purpose of this role is to drive Manufacturing Engineering competencies and technical requirements within the EOS Engineering and Operations teams. You will guide and influence technical aspects of overhaul and repair activities, focusing on High Performance, LEAN, and continuous improvement behaviors, while incorporating standards like IPPR, PPAP, RRPS, and Zero Defect requirements.

Additionally, the role involves responding to business needs to enhance and sustain overhaul and repair capabilities, developing Engine Manuals and Repair definitions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards. This position supports the EOS business strategy to ensure MRO engine delivery against customer commitments, maintaining Rolls-Royce’s position as the only wholly owned Civil Large Engine repair and overhaul facility in its global MRO network.

As a Manufacturing Engineer in the Off-wing Operations (formerly AR&O), you will provide technical support to operations, develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes to meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, and lead time requirements.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Ensuring manufacturing processes comply with HSE standards and the Zero Harm program.
  • Maintaining product safety and conformance to specifications, investigating safety issues.
  • Driving a zero-defects culture and ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
  • Applying manufacturing process controls and acting as signatory where applicable.
  • Identifying opportunities for process and technology improvements.
  • Planning and managing activities, resources, and risks.
  • Developing and improving manufacturing processes and digital systems, analyzing data to demonstrate and enhance capabilities.
  • Driving best practices and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Continuously developing personal competencies and providing coaching and support to others.
  • Building relationships with partners and suppliers.

Key Skills and Experiences:

  • Qualified Engineer (e.g., UK HND/degree or equivalent).
  • Recognized engineering accreditation (e.g., IEng, CEng).
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and systems relevant to the role.
