Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer - External Supply Chain

Working Pattern: 37 hours/week, Days

Location: Derby Raynesway

Rolls-Royce offers a unique opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer - External Supply Chain within our Future Programmes, Electrical Controls & Instrumentation business unit in the Submarines division based in Derby.

Our team comprises experts in engineering, manufacturing, project management, and procurement, supporting the UK Royal Navy and expanding our nuclear sector capabilities.

Role Overview: As an Electrical Manufacturing Engineer - External Supply Chain, you will oversee manufacturing activities in the external supply chain, ensuring processes meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, and lead time requirements. You will ensure product integrity by aligning manufacturing methods with design intent and collaborating with Design Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld in the supply chain.
• Maintain product safety by ensuring manufacturing processes meet design specifications and resolve safety issues.
• Promote a culture of zero defects and ensure compliance with relevant policies and standards.
• Apply manufacturing process controls and support technical reviews with customers and suppliers.
• Plan and manage project activities, resources, and risks to meet deadlines.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, digital systems, and methods in collaboration with suppliers.
• Review technical packages and resolve technical issues related to production methods.

Qualifications and Skills:

• HNC or degree in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of process improvement tools, IPC standards (desirable), and GS3001 requirements.
• Experience working with external suppliers and understanding of manufacturing processes and drawings.
• Professional manner and ability to work with diverse teams.
