Job Description

Position: Manufacturing Engineer – Capability Acquisition

Type: Full Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer – Capability Acquisition to join the Regen Programme within Submarines.

The Role

This role involves defining requirements for new technology acquisitions, liaising with the supply chain, and laying foundations for process development. You will execute engineering activities to deliver new technology and capabilities to meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, and lead time (SQCD) requirements. You will interface with multiple teams to ensure technology solutions align with existing strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. HSE: Ensure manufacturing processes comply with regulatory requirements and meet the Zero Harm standards.
  2. Product Safety: Ensure manufacturing processes achieve design intent, follow safety standards, and investigate safety issues.
  3. Quality: Promote a zero-defects culture, reduce risks, and ensure compliance with policies like RRMS, SABRe, Export Control, and IP requirements.
  4. Requirements: Identify opportunities for process, system, and technology improvements.
  5. Develop Capability: Develop and improve manufacturing processes and digital systems, using data to demonstrate and enhance capabilities.
  6. Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Work with teams to understand and share best practices, lessons learned, and participate in Communities of Practice.
  7. External Relationships: Build relationships with partners and suppliers to support objectives.
Candidate Profile

We seek candidates who embody Rolls-Royce values: agility, boldness, collaboration, and simplicity. To succeed:

  • Hold a recognized engineering qualification (e.g., UK HND/foundation degree or equivalent).
  • Possess national or international accreditation (e.g., UK IEng or CEng) if available.
  • Have a general understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to the role.
  • Be familiar with Manufacturing Systems and relevant software tools.
  • Understand manufacturing engineering processes pertinent to the position.

The salary will depend on skills and experience. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, supporting a respectful environment where everyone can reach their potential.

Applicants must hold a UK nationality and a Security Check (SC) clearance without caveats. Rolls-Royce will support the clearance process if needed.
