What you will be doing:

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to work as an INDUSTRIALISATION ENGINEER for the entire engine life-cycle, including assembly, disassembly, and testing.

The AD&T Engineering department employs around XXX Engineers and plays a crucial role in the successful build, overhaul, and development of hundreds of engines annually. The department covers the entire engine build life cycle, from experimental development through to production build and servicing in the field.

As an industrialisation engineer, you will be responsible for promoting and campaigning for world-class methods, technology, digital capabilities, and processes across all areas of AD&T. You will have the opportunity to influence and implement improvements in the Experimental (C2/4), Production (PTF), and Overhaul (EOS) departments in Derby, as well as internationally.

Under the EPIC initiative, the industrialisation team promotes best practices, collaboration, leadership, efficiency, and continuous improvement throughout AD&T.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and maintaining long-lasting connections across the full life-cycle of engine build and service.
  • Promoting and implementing APQP principles across the life-cycle.
  • Ensuring the latest technologies and digital opportunities are utilized efficiently across the business, considering the full engine life-cycle in decision-making.
  • Leading bespoke engine build/disassembly projects where industrialisation across experimental, production, and MRO is key.
  • Driving method improvements and simplification, such as FAI simplification and engine manual utilization across production.
  • Collaborating with the new engines team in design and engine build to ensure the business is prepared for UltraFan across the full engine life cycle.

Who we're looking for:

At Rolls-Royce, we embrace agility, boldness, collaboration, and simplicity. These principles are core to our values and are essential in our assessment process.

  • A highly driven self-starter with strategic thinking and the ability to connect ideas.
  • Ability to coach and influence at all levels to maximize collaboration.
  • Knowledge of APQP, industrialisation principles such as PPAP, FAI, change control, etc., is desirable.
  • Problem-solving skills such as 8D are desirable.
  • Comfortable communicating and influencing at a senior level.
  • Manufacturing engineering experience specific to engine assembly/disassembly and understanding of Part 145 and Part 21 regulations is advantageous but not essential.
