Job Description:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer specialized in Capability Acquisition to join the Regen Programme within Rolls Royce Submarines in Derby. This role involves defining requirements for new technology acquisitions, liaising with supply chain partners, and establishing process foundations. Responsibilities include executing engineering activities to deliver new technologies that meet safety, quality, cost, and lead time standards, while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with health, safety, and environmental standards, contributing to the Zero Harm initiative.
  • Maintain product safety by ensuring processes achieve design intent and conform to specifications, investigating safety issues thoroughly.
  • Promote a culture of zero defects, reducing risks and ensuring Right First Time product quality.
  • Identify opportunities for process and digital system improvements to meet current and future requirements.
  • Develop, implement, validate, and continuously improve manufacturing processes and digital systems, leveraging data for capability enhancement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners, sharing best practices and lessons learned.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Recognized engineering qualification (e.g., HND, foundation degree, or equivalent).
  • International or national engineering accreditation (e.g., UK IEng or CEng).
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and systems relevant to the role.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing engineering processes and software tools.
  • Security Clearance (SC) and UK nationality are mandatory.
