A fast-growing business at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution is seeking an innovative and results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and manufacture of its advanced EV charging systems. With a growing international footprint and involvement in pioneering UK projects, this company designs, manufactures, commissions, and supports end-to-end commercial charging infrastructure.

This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative, forward-thinking engineering team and help scale the production of next-generation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement efficient production processes for EV charging system manufacturing
  • Ensure production complies with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Maintain and troubleshoot production equipment, ensuring uptime and efficiency
  • Work with design teams to scale product specifications into workable manufacturing processes
  • Identify bottlenecks, improve workflows, and drive process optimisation
  • Create and maintain documentation including SOPs, workflows, and maintenance schedules
  • Train technicians and operators on production processes and equipment usage
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies to enhance production performance
  • Liaise with Quality Engineering to resolve any quality issues and implement improvements
  • Analyse production metrics to inform and deliver continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to support the supply chain and material availability
  • Assist in implementing JIT strategies and monitor inventory levels to reduce waste
  • Engage with suppliers to solve production-related challenges and ensure material compliance
  • Provide engineering support to ensure day-to-day operational readiness
  • Participate in cross-functional planning meetings to align production objectives with broader business goals

Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical, Mechanical or Production Engineering, or a related field would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experience in a production or manufacturing engineering role involving electric systems, ideally in the EV or power sector
  • Good working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing tools
  • Hands-on experience with power electronics, connectors, and electrical system components
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities
