Job summary

VolkerStevin, part of VolkerWessels UK, seeks an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial team on multiple projects in the Warrington/Macclesfield area. You will oversee contractual matters, support bid activities, and ensure value delivery across procurement and contracts.

The role reports to the Commercial Manager and involves managing risk, ensuring budget adherence, and driving successful project outcomes with strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Accredited surveyor qualification from RICS/CIOB/ICES.
• QS degree or equivalent demonstrated by experience or certification.
• HND in building/construction is advantageous.
• Experience as a Senior QS/QS with leadership responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the commercial team across projects to ensure delivery.
• Review main contract conditions, assess risk and scope implications.
• Evaluate subcontracts and tender information for value engineering.
• Support bid team and provide escalation path for disputes if needed.
• Coordinate procurement, timelines, and budget alignment with business policy.
• Deliver post-contract reviews and ensure final accounts are settled.
