Your new role

Due to a growing order book, they are now looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their Cambridge team. They are looking for someone with strong main contracting experience as well as experience of managing and controlling the commercial aspects of a variety of projects. This position is a mix of office and site based, with flexibility for occasional remote working.

Some key duties to include:

1. Provide accurate financial reporting on individual projects
2. Collate, review financially and report on other projects
3. Supervise, support and advise direct reports
4. Place subcontracts in accordance with the main contract and company policies and procedures
5. Advise other project surveyors of opportunities to maximise values and minimise costs
6. Ensure direct reports follow the correct procedures
7. Provide mentoring and assistance with the development of commercial team members
8. Provide assistance and support with commercial aspects of bids/tender opportunities

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience working for a main contractor
• Experience working on Educational, Commercial, Healthcare and Public buildings preferably of over £50m value
• Experience of leading and negotiating second stage tendering is an advantage
• Experience in managing and mentoring a team of Surveyors over either 1 large or a number of smaller projects
• Experience of reviewing and negotiating Main Contract terms
• BSc or HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or other equivalent commercially related subject, and RICS Membership
