Job description

Join to apply for the Managing Quantity Surveyor role at Kier Construction.

We're looking for Managing Quantity Surveyors to join Kier Strategic Projects, which delivers major projects across sectors including Healthcare, Custodial, Defence, and Life Sciences.

Location: Rushden, Northamptonshire

Hours: Full Time, Permanent. Flexible working options available.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure works are valued, including variations, in accordance with the contract and analyze to determine the project's true value.
  2. Ensure main contracts have appropriate terms and conditions, with identified commercial risks.
  3. Engage the supply chain appropriately with correct contract terms.
  4. Foster good client relationships.
  5. Manage subcontract letting, negotiations, and financial accounting.

Requirements:

  • HND/degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, familiarity with ICE/NEC contracts, and knowledge of current Construction Law.
  • Experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including meetings, measurement, control cycles, certificates, and accruals.
  • Knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Support and encourage junior team members.

Desirable:

  • Member of RICS or working towards membership.
  • CSCS card.
