Job summary

Benugo, in partnership with John Lewis, seeks a visionary Manager to lead the catering and hospitality strategy for a prestigious, in-store collaboration spanning 32 John Lewis locations. Cardiff-based, you will shape guest experiences at the highest level.

You will drive growth, recruit and train teams, and oversee food quality and service while maintaining a strong on-floor presence and strategic relationship with John Lewis.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a similar retail role.
• Barista experience advantageous.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

You will be responsible for leading, managing, developing and implementing growth strategies. These responsibilities will be a wide spectrum of tasks ranging from sales strategies, recruitment, training, overseeing the food quality and service, as well as having a presence on the floor.

Duties include but not limited to:

Commercial:

• Taking responsibility for the business performance at the location delivering company forecast and yearly targets.
• To analyse and drive profitable sales whilst constantly improving standards.
• To organise marketing activities, such as promotional event and discount schemes.

People Management:

• Offer clear directions and briefings to the team.
• To offer effective feedback on performance through structured reviews.
• To recruit the best team members for the location.

Client Service:

• To build and maintain a solid and professional relationship with John Lewis.
• To ensure effective communication and engagement with John Lewis.
• To regularly monitor customer feedback and produce a suitable action plan based on the results.

Health & Safety, Food Safety and ESG:

• To ensure the location achieves a minimum score of 90% on European Safety Bureau and 5* scores on EHO visits.
• To ensure the location meets statutory and Company requirements of Health & Safety, Food Safety and Environmental legislation and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a similar retail role
• Barista experience (advantageous)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, creative environment, whilst working well under pressure
• Highly developed attention to detail and record keeping
• Passion for hospitality and delivering a great guest experience
• Great team player
• Leads by example and takes initiative
• Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-based perspective
