Job summary

Christopher Brian Recruitment Limited is recruiting on behalf of a growing accountancy practice in Basingstoke for a Management Accountant / Bookkeeper. The role covers day-to-day bookkeeping, management accounts and VAT, with client contact and a pathway into broader management accounting work.

In this hybrid role, you will maintain accurate records, produce monthly management accounts, and liaise directly with a varied portfolio of clients while developing technical skills and progressing

Qualifications

• Experience in bookkeeping or management accounts within a UK accountancy practice.
• Willingness to develop into broader management accounting work.
• Experience with VAT and reconciliations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Bank and control account reconciliations.
• Process purchase and sales ledger transactions.
• Post journals and maintain accounting records.
• Liaise with clients and answer day-to-day queries.
• Support more junior team members where appropriate.

We're working with a growing accountancy practice in Basingstoke that's looking for a Management Accountant / Bookkeeper to join its team.

This is a varied position and a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with clients while developing beyond traditional bookkeeping into wider management accounting work.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Completing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
• Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Bank and control account reconciliations
• Processing purchase and sales ledger transactions
• Posting journals and maintaining accurate accounting records
• Liaising directly with clients and answering day-to-day queries
• Supporting more junior team members where appropriate

You'll have plenty of opportunity to build your technical knowledge and take on greater responsibility as you progress.

About You

We're keen to hear from anyone with previous bookkeeping or management accounts experience within a UK accountancy practice.

You don't need experience across every area listed above. If you've got a good grounding in bookkeeping and want to develop further into management accounts, we'd still encourage you to apply.
