Job summary

Christopher Brian Recruitment Limited is working with a Reading based accountancy practice to recruit a Management Accountant / Bookkeeper. You will handle day-to-day bookkeeping and management accounting for a varied portfolio of clients, including VAT, reconciliations, and monthly reporting.

The role offers a friendly team, ongoing training and development, and opportunities to progress into management accounts as you grow your experience within UK practice.

Qualifications

• UK accountancy practice bookkeeping and/or management accounts experience.

Responsibilities

We're working with a growing accountancy practice in Reading that's looking for a Management Accountant / Bookkeeper to join its team.

The Role

You will be responsible for a varied portfolio, with work including:

• Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Completing bank and control account reconciliations
• Processing journals and maintaining accurate accounting records
• Supporting clients with cloud accounting software
• Liaising directly with clients and answering accounting queries
• Reviewing bookkeeping completed by junior team members where appropriate

About You

We're looking for someone with previous bookkeeping and/or management accounts experience within a UK accountancy practice.

You don't need to have experience across everything above. If you're currently working mainly in bookkeeping and would like to gain more management accounts exposure, we'd particularly like to hear from you.
