Job summary

ALF Recruit is seeking a Management Accountant for a growing accountancy practice in Bury. You will own your portfolio of 4–7 clients, producing bespoke management accounts and providing commercial insight with KPI dashboards.

You'll have 5+ years in a similar role, strong experience in Sage 50 and Xero, and be confident presenting financial information on client visits. Hybrid working with travel and a supportive, study-friendly culture is offered.

Qualifications

• 5 years' or more experience in a similar role, with relevant qualifications.
• Strong management accounts preparation experience.
• Full competency with Outlook and Excel.
• Confident presenting financial information and meeting clients on site.
• Accountancy practice background is an advantage.
• Friendly, grounded and trustworthy.

Responsibilities

• Producing customised management accounts for each client.
• Commercial accounting and business intelligence.
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts.
• Analysing gross profitability by project, product or revenue stream.
• Clear variance analysis and performance commentary.
• Leading monthly and quarterly client meetings.
• Delivering KPI dashboards.
• Maintaining cashflow forecasts and budgets.
• Providing commercial insight.
• VAT returns and forecasting work.

Bury | Full time, permanent | £40,000 - £50,000 DOE

A growing accountancy practice in Bury is looking for a Management Accountant to join its team. The firm provides high level fractional finance support — Finance Controllers, Finance Directors, Management Accountants, Bookkeepers, Payroll Officers and Credit Controllers — to small and medium sized businesses across the North West.

You'd take charge of your own portfolio of four to seven clients and own their management accounting entirely. It's a role with real autonomy: you're not buried in a corner of a finance team, you're the person those businesses come to for answers.
