Job summary

Michael Page is supporting a market-leading business in Doncaster for an ambitious Management Accountant seeking to develop their experience. You will report to a Senior Management Accountant and work with the wider finance function and non-finance stakeholders.

Key duties include monthly management accounts, month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, cashflow forecasting, and continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Currently studying an accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or AAT).
• Experience in monthly management accounts and month-end processes.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic business.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts for two trading entities.
• Complete month-end activities including journals, reconciliations and control account reviews.
• Support the supervision and training of the Accounts Assistant.
• Collaborate with Commercial Finance, AP and other stakeholders on financial data accuracy.
• Act as finance contact for non-finance stakeholders and attend weekly numbers meetings.
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts across the Group and investigate variances.
• Support weekly cashflow forecasting and maintain process documentation.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and contribute to continuous improvement.

Description

As Management Accountant you will be reporting into a qualified Senior Management Accountant who has progressed within the business. You will be working as part of the management accounting team, but will be working closely with the wider finance function and non-finance stakeholders within the business. Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

• Supporting with the preparation of monthly management accounts with analysis for two trading entities.
• Completing month-end activities, including journals, reconciliations and control account reviews.
• Supporting with the supervision, training and support of the Accounts Assistant.
• Working closely with Commercial Finance, Accounts Payable and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy of financial information.
• Acting as the finance contact for non-finance stakeholders, and providing support on accounting processes, which will include weekly meetings to discuss the numbers.
• Reconciling key balance sheet accounts across the Group and investigating any variances.
• Supporting the preparation of the weekly cashflow forecast.
• Maintaining clear and up-to-date process documentation to support robust financial controls.
• Providing ad hoc financial analysis
• Supporting with continuous improvement projects that help drive business performance.

Profile
