Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is seeking an experienced Management Accountant for a 12-month contract to join a leading insurance business in Birmingham. You will support month-end reporting, financial controls and the delivery of accurate management accounts.

This role requires CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification or active study, strong technical finance knowledge, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to explain movements in financial performance to stakeholders. On-site in Birmingham 3 days per week.

Qualifications

• Qualified or studying CIMA/ACCA/ACA with strong management accounting experience.
• Experience in insurance or financial services is preferred.
• Proficient in month-end close, journals, accruals and prepayments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and deliver accurate reporting.
• Complete month-end journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve items.
• Analyse P&L against budget and forecast with commentary.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes and improve reporting efficiency.

Management Accountant Needed!

Management Accountant | 6-Month Contract | £425 p/d | Insurance

We’re looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join a leading insurance business on a 12-month contract, supporting month-end reporting, financial controls and the delivery of accurate management accounts.

Birmingham-based: 3 days onsite per week (flexibility to negotiate).

What we’re looking for:

• CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified, part-qualified or actively studying.
• Strong management accounting experience, ideally within insurance or wider financial services.
• Solid technical finance knowledge, including month-end close, journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Experience preparing monthly management accounts and analysing P&L performance.
• Strong balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting skills.
• Experience with variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
• Excellent Excel skills and a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to investigate financial discrepancies and provide clear explanations of movements in financial performance.
• Experience working with finance teams and business stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts.
• Complete month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and other key adjustments.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
• Analyse P&L results against budget and forecast, providing meaningful commentary.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Maintain accurate financial records and robust financial controls.
• Assist with audit requests and ensure compliance with internal reporting procedures.
