ABPM Recruitment Limited is supporting an international client in recruiting for a newly created finance role in the North Birmingham, West Midlands area. The role focuses on strengthening the finance function with robust management accounts, strong reporting, and balance sheet control.

You will own the month-end close, improve data accuracy, and assist with budgeting and forecasting while contributing to the ongoing development of finance systems and processes.

£45,000 to £50,000 plus Study Support

ABPM are retained to support our key client, an international and acquisitive group who are distributors of a premium range of healthcare products, to recruit into this newly created role to underpin the growth and expansion of the business.

Your role is to strengthen the finance function by providing robust monthly management accounts, high-quality financial reporting, strong balance sheet control and meaningful analysis to support commercial decision-making across the business.

The role will take ownership of the month-end close process, improve the accuracy and integrity of financial data, support budgeting and forecasting activity, and contribute to the ongoing development of finance systems, controls and processes. This role will enable the Financial Controller to focus more fully on technical accounting, tax, governance, strategic finance and delivery of the business growth plan. This is a key finance role requiring strong management accounting, balance sheet control, reporting and process improvement experience. The postholder will work closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team to ensure timely, accurate and insightful financial information is available to support business performance.

This is a hands-on management accounting role with scope to strengthen financial control, improve reporting and support the continued growth and professionalisation of the finance function.

You will be CIMA part-qualified, but we will also consider ACCA or ACA part-qualified; you do need to possess strong experience in management accounting, month-end close and financial reporting.

Confident using Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups and financial modelling; experience with ERP/accounting systems is desirable. SAP1 desirable. The ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

So, possessing confidence working with finance systems and improving data accuracy, controls and processes will be helpful. Therefore, you will be a proactive, organised and collaborative approach, with the ability to support and develop junior finance colleagues.
