Job summary

Synexa Life Sciences is seeking a hands-on Management Accountant to cover designated balance-sheet accounts, month-end close, reporting, treasury, and compliance within an international group. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and a global finance team.

The role combines day-to-day accounting with investigations of complex issues, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across transactional and management accounting responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in accounting
• Practical month-end accounting experience
• Strong Excel and data manipulation
• Experience with an accounting/ERP system
• Ability to investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies

Responsibilities

• Own designated balance-sheet accounts, journals, accruals and prepayments
• Support month-end close and reconciliations
• Produce P&L/BS/CF variance analysis and cash forecasts
• Manage treasury activities: supplier/payroll payments, FX, intercompany funding
• Conduct AP/AR processes, invoicing and credit control
• Support VAT and local filings and assist audits

Job description

The Management Accountant is a broad, hands-on finance role within an international Group, with responsibility for elements of the accounting, reporting, treasury and statutory compliance activities.

The role will take ownership of designated balance-sheet areas and finance processes from transaction through to reconciliation and reporting, working closely with the Financial Controller and wider international finance team.

The successful candidate will be comfortable both performing day-to-day accounting activities and investigating more complex accounting, systems and reconciliation issues independently.

Key Responsibilities

Exact responsibilities will change over time and based on experience, such that the below is not an exhaustive list:

• Accounting & month end — ownership of designated balance-sheet accounts; journals, accruals and prepayments; fixed assets; monthly reconciliations; investigation and resolution of differences; contribution to month-end close.
• Reporting & analysis — P&L/BS/CF variance analysis; 13-week cash forecast; debtor reporting; ad-hoc Excel analysis; support to budgeting and forecasting.
• Treasury & international finance — supplier and payroll payments; cash management; FX transactions; intercompany funding and settlements; bank reconciliations/data.
• Transactional finance — undertake and support AP/AR processes, supplier reconciliations, invoicing and credit control as required. This is a hands-on role and the successful candidate will be expected to undertake transactional activities alongside their wider accounting responsibilities.
• Compliance & controls — VAT and local filings; support overseas filings; audit; balance-sheet controls; documentation; continuous improvement.
