Job summary

Sense is recruiting a Waking Night Support Worker for our Supported Living service in King's Heath, Birmingham. This full-time role is 35 hours per week, with shift patterns across Monday to Sunday and some bank holidays.

You will work across multiple 1:1 flats, staying awake to provide attentive overnight support to adults with complex needs. Applicants should be patient, communicative, and able to adapt to individuals using diverse communication methods, including BSL and picture exchange.

Qualifications

  • Empathy and patience when supporting adults with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during night shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive overnight support to adults in 1:1 flats.
  • Stay awake and engaged throughout the shift to ensure safety and wellbeing.
  • Respond to needs and maintain a calm, secure environment during the night.

£13.50 per hour (inclusive of allowance)

We are looking for a Waking Night Support Worker to join our team at our Supported Living service in King's Heath, Birmingham. This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week, and we cannot offers less hours for this role.

Working across our multiple 1:1 flats, you'll provide attentive overnight support to adults who lead active and fulfilling lives; remaining awake and engaged throughout your shift to ensure the people you support feel safe, settled, and cared for.

The people you'll support are great communicators who enjoy activities such as gaming, watching football, trips to the gym and cinema, and music and sensory sessions. Some may display behaviours that require patience and a consistent approach, and many are developing new ways to communicate including BSL and picture communication.

Flexible working across Monday to Sunday is required, including some bank holidays.
