Job summary

Sense is seeking a Male waking night support worker at our King's Heath supported living service in Birmingham. This 35-hour per week waking night role requires staying awake and engaged to ensure residents feel safe, supported, and valued during the night.

You will support adults with active lifestyles, utilizing communication methods including BSL and picture exchange, and collaborate with a team to manage overnight tasks and wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Overnight care experience preferred.
  • Ability to engage adults with varied communication needs (including non-verbal).
  • Flexible to work across days including weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 35 hours per week of waking night support at the King's Heath location.
  • Ensure residents feel safe, settled and cared for throughout the night.

We are looking for a Waking Night Support Worker to join our team at our Supported Living service in King's Heath, Birmingham. This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week, and we cannot offers less hours for this role.

Working across our multiple 1:1 flats, you'll provide attentive overnight support to adults who lead active and fulfilling lives; remaining awake and engaged throughout your shift to ensure the people you support feel safe, settled, and cared for.

The people you'll support are great communicators who enjoy activities such as gaming, watching football, trips to the gym and cinema, and music and sensory sessions. Some may display behaviours that require patience and a consistent approach, and many are developing new ways to communicate including BSL and picture communication.

Flexible working across Monday to Sunday is required, including some bank holidays.
