Sense is seeking a Female Waking Night Support Worker to join Newton Court in Paston, Peterborough. This permanent part-time role is 18 hours per week, 22:00–07:00 on a two-week rota, with a pay rate of £13.50 per hour (including a £0.50 allowance).

You will provide awake overnight support to people with complex disabilities, ensuring safety and comfort until the morning team arrives. A BSL Level 2 qualification and a full UK driving licence are essential.

Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose. We're looking for a Waking Night Support Worker to join our team at Newton Court in Paston, Peterborough for a permanent role working 18 hours per week, 10:00pm to 7:00am on a two-week rota including some weekends, paying £13.00 per hour plus a £0.50 per hour waking night allowance.

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will be awake and actively supporting throughout the night, ensuring the people we support feel safe and comfortable until the morning team arrives.

A BSL Level 2 qualification and a full UK driving licence are both essential for this role.

Please note: this post is restricted to female applicants. This is a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Confident using BSL to communicate
• Comfortable supporting people with mobility needs including walking, guiding, and wheelchair use
• Able to work independently and use good judgement
• Warm, calm, and reassuring throughout the night
• Willing to attend training and develop in their role

This role might include supporting people with:

• Personal care and hygiene
• Medication and wellbeing
• Providing reassurance and comfort overnight
• Keeping accurate records and handover notes for the morning team
