Job summary

Cygnet Walkern Lodge in Stevenage is seeking an experienced Bank Support Worker to join our team. You will work bank hours and help adults with learning disabilities and complex needs with physical and emotional support.

Walkern Lodge is a residential home providing care for adults with challenging behaviour and associated complex needs. The role requires care, empathy, and excellent communication as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a support setting with learning disabilities and mental health.
• Excellent communication and a good team player.
• Caring and understanding with energy to provide a stimulating environment and support independence.

Responsibilities

• Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all the people in our care.
• Provide guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.
• Learn about individuals' specific needs and provide help in the most appropriate way.
• Assist with medical and welfare needs.
• Report on medical and welfare needs as required.
• Safeguard all patients and maintain a safe, clean environment for all.

Walkern Lodge is a residential home providing care for adults with learning disabilities, who may have behaviours that challenge and associated complex needs.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Driven with a desire to make a real difference in people's lives
• Experienced for 1 year plus in a support setting working with learning disabilities and mental health
• An excellent communicator and a good team player
• Caring and understanding with the energy required to provide a trusting, stimulating & varied environment
• Passionate about empowering & supporting service user independence

Your day-to-day

• Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all the people in our care
