As a Major Loss Claims Adjuster, you will handle marine claims with varying complexity, with a greater focus on Major loss files. Responsibilities include first notification, policy & legal liability assessment, quantum analysis, and timely resolution, while mitigating indemnity and expense exposure. You will communicate developments and outcomes to all key stakeholders and provide high-quality customer service, adhering to claims handling best practices and legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

As a Senior Claims professional, you are respected for your deep technical expertise. You will balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, make sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, and take ownership of key outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain best practice procedures for Marine claims, aligned with global standards.
• Handle Marine claims within your authority limits.
• Provide claims trend analysis feedback to the team and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with underwriters, clients, and brokers.
• Participate in claims reviews and travel as needed.
• Support senior Major Loss Adjusters in handling larger, complex claims.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
• Assist in claims performance reporting and ad-hoc projects.
• Manage operational relationships and quality assurance issues with Shared Services.
• Oversee TPA performance and contribute thought leadership through training and presentations.

What we are looking for

• Experience in handling Marine claims, particularly Cargo, with beneficial experience in Fine Art and Specie.
• Knowledge of Marine policy language for accurate interpretation.
• Experience managing legal professionals, surveyors, experts, and legal spend.
• Strong communication skills for client and stakeholder presentations.
• In-depth knowledge of Marine legal, regulatory, and litigation procedures.
• Teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with market IT systems and Microsoft applications.
• Ability to identify process improvements and contribute to transformation projects.
