Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Handyperson / Caretaker to support the Facilities Manager in delivering high-quality maintenance.

The role covers cleaning, repairs, and site safety across Wakefield (WF6) with occasional cover at Leeds and Carr Gate. The ideal candidate will have experience in similar maintenance roles, a strong focus on health and safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

Experience in a hands-on maintenance role such as Handyperson, Caretaker, Maintenance Assistant or Fabric Engineer.
Experience in a customer-facing environment with effective communication.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with attention to detail.
Strong understanding of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

Carry out general porterage and cleaning, maintain entrances, grounds and internal areas.
Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks and inspect plant/equipment; report faults.
Undertake minor repairs to fixtures, fittings and plumbing; replace lamps and bulbs.
Carry out painting/decorating and assist with room setups including AV and furniture.
Receive, check and store deliveries; liaise with colleagues and contractors to ensure smooth operations.
