Job summary

Dematic is seeking a field service professional to service AMHE equipment on site, ensuring adherence to quality standards and schedules. You will diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, electronic, PLC and PC systems, prioritise issues, and maintain safety and quality in every task.

You will also record work, participate in continuous improvement and handle spares management, while representing Dematic professionally to customers and supporting pre-planned maintenance structures.

Qualifications

• ONC or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Engineering apprenticeship preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic manuals & drawings.
• Basic understanding of control systems and techniques.
• Basic understanding of PLC equipment.
• Willingness to work at height.
• Experience with conveyor systems.
• PC literacy.
• Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules.
• Technical competencies (or local equivalents).
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Logical fault finding and resolution approach.
• Operate within pre-planned maintenance structures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with quality standards and time schedules as set out in the equipment manuals.
• Undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and industry standard practices.
• Diagnose Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC faults and perform repairs.
• Prioritise system faults.
• Comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times.
• Ensure quality of output at all times.
• Accurately record all work undertaken.
• Involvement in continuous improvement and sales opportunities.
• Maintain product flow at all times.
• Ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels.
• Represent the company professionally and maintain customer relations.
• Adhere to Quality processes and procedures.

Knowledge & Experience Required

• ONC or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (electrical preferred)
• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (preferred)
• A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
• Basic understanding of control systems and techniques
• Basic understanding of PLC equipment
• Working at height
• Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems
• PC literacy
• Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules
• Technical Competencies (Or Local Equivalents)
• Ability to learn and retain technical informationAbility to read and understand technical drawings and instructions
• Have a logical approach to fault finding and resolution
• Operate within a designed structure of pre-planned maintenance
