Job summary

Dematic Customer Services is seeking a Shift Maintenance Technician in the United Kingdom to maintain, repair and support material handling equipment on customer sites. You will aim to meet KPI targets, perform scheduled maintenance and diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems.

The role requires an engineering background, familiarity with conveyor systems, and a proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3/ONC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• IOSH Working Safely (desirable).
• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship.
• Working at height experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and support equipment within the agreed Dematic scope of contract on the customer site.
• Aim to achieve KPI targets and ensure delivery to customer and Dematic expectations.
• Undertake scheduled repairs in line with manufacturer recommendations and industry standards.
• Diagnose Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, PLC faults and perform repairs.
• Record all work accurately and maintain safety and quality standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and keep on-site spares at optimum levels.

As a Shift Maintenance technician you will be... Making your impact To maintain, repair and support the equipment detailed within the agreed Dematic scope of contract on the Customers site. Primarily ensuring delivery to both Dematic and the Customer’s expectations with the aim of achieving KPI targets at all times. Undertake AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with the quality standards and time schedules as set out in the equipment manuals To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices Diagnosis of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC faults and subsequent repairs Prioritise system faults Compliance with Health & Safety legislation at all times Ensure quality of output at all times To accurately record all work undertaken Involvement in continuous improvement and enhancement opportunities Maintain product flow at all times Ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and maintain customer relations Adherence to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company Contributing to the team NVQ Level 3/ONC in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering IOSH working safely (desirable) Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings Basic understanding of control systems and problem solving techniques Basic understanding of PLC equipment Working at height experience and willingness Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems Good level of PC literacy Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules Working knowledge of FEM and BS standards governing the automated warehouse industry Have a continuous improvement mentality
