Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Shift Maintenance Technician to maintain, repair and support equipment on the customer site within the agreed Dematic scope of contract. You will work to KPI targets, perform scheduled servicing, diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, PLC and PC systems, and uphold safety and quality standards.

The role requires NVQ3/ONC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with preferred IOSH safety training and an engineering apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3/ONC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• IOSH Working Safely (desirable).
• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship.
• Working understanding of mechanical, electrical & electronic manuals & drawings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and support the equipment within the contracted Dematic scope on the Customer site.
• Deliver to Dematic and Customer KPI targets at all times.
• Undertake AMHE equipment servicing per quality standards and schedules.
• Undertake scheduled repairs following manufacturers recommendations and industry practices.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, electronic, PLC faults and perform repairs.
• Prioritise system faults and ensure safety compliance.
• Record all work accurately and maintain documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and optimal product flow on-site.
• Keep on-site spares at optimum levels and represent the company professionally.
• Adhere to quality processes and procedures.

• To maintain, repair and support the equipment detailed within the agreed Dematic scope of contract on the Customers site.
• Primarily ensuring delivery to both Dematic and the Customer’s expectations with the aim of achieving KPI targets at all times.
• Undertake AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with the quality standards and time schedules as set out in the equipment manuals
• To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices
• Diagnosis of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC faults and subsequent repairs
• Prioritise system faults
• Compliance with Health & Safety legislation at all times
• Ensure quality of output at all times
• To accurately record all work undertaken
• Involvement in continuous improvement and enhancement opportunities

• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
• A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
• Basic understanding of control systems and problem solving techniques
• Basic understanding of PLC equipment
• Working at height experience and willingness
• Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems
• Good level of PC literacy
• Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules
• Working knowledge of FEM and BS standards governing the automated warehouse industry
• Have a continuous improvement mentality
